Chapter 26-

Reshiram fell to the ground, worn out and her muscles sore. Zekrom gave a huff threw his nostrils before giving a triumphant roar. Touko glanced around them, her eyes scanning the battle field. N’s team was knocked flat. Her own team looked slightly worn out, but they were still standing. Mila caught Touko’s eye for a second before the dark type ran over to her, crushing the poor girl in a tight hug. Touko blinked, stumbling back a few steps and giving her friend a pat on the back. Mila let go, dropping back down on all fours.

“We… we won. We really won.” Touko muttered, still letting the outcome of the battle sink in.

“I…I… lost….” N’s voice was small and cracked, barely above a whisper. Touko took a few steps towards both N and Reshiram.

“Touko…” Mila said, her voice itching with concern.

The brunette stopped moving, her eyes blank and emotionless. A minute passed before she dug around in her bag, pulling out a couple of hyper potions. Enough for both her own team and N’s. Mila raised an eyebrow at the girl as she walked back over to the dark type, kneeling so they were at eye level.

“Give these out to everyone.” Touko said, offering her the potions.

“Wait…. WHAT?! Even to N’s team?” Mila asked, bewilderment written on her face. Touko gave a firm nod, her face clear of any emotions that she was feeling. To anyone other than Mila, the girl would have looked like a doll or someone that was dead on the inside. But the Zoroark knew that the girl was completely drained, not able to feel much of anything at the moment.

“Yes. Even to N’s team.” Touko said.

“So… Let me get this right… You want me to heal the enemy?!” Mila asked, wanting to make sure that she was hearing her friend right.

“An enemy that’s already been defeated Mila. The battle is over. We won. Now? I just want to go home and put this whole mess behind us. So please, help me with this alright?” Touko asked. Mila stared at her for a moment before giving a defeated sigh.

“Give me the damn potions.” She muttered. Touko gave a small smile, handing her the potions.

“Thank you, Mila.” The brunette said, standing back up again.

“You so owe me.” The Zoroark grumbled. Touko managed a small laugh.

“I’ll give you an extra pineapple when we get home.” The girl said.

“Damn straight.” Mila muttered, walking over to the other Pokémon.

The girl managed another small laugh at her friends’ choice of words before she turned around to face N and Reshiram, any look of mirth instantly gone. N was still rooted to the spot, his eyes wide in shock and disbelief. The teen walked over to him, waving a hand in front of his face. He didn’t move an inch. She frowned before looking over at Reshiram beside them. Pulling out a few more spare potions, Touko knelt down by the dragons head. The legendary opened one bright blue eye halfway, looking at the girl beside her in wonder and confusion.

“What are you doing child?” She asked, her voice soft and gentle.

“If it’s alright with you, I’d like to heal you up. Please.” Touko added, freezing as she was about to use one of the potions. Reshiram gave a light chuckle, which ended up turning into a grunt of pain. She closed her eye but a small smile was painted on her lips.

“You truly are an extraordinary girl. Zekrom was right to choose you all those years ago. Do as you wish, young one.” Reshiram said. Touko gave a nod, reaching a shaking hand out and gently stroking the white dragon’s snout, not sure if the size of the legendary was what intimidated her or the fact that she could light the brunette on fire at any minute.

“This may sting a little bit.” Touko muttered.

Reshiram gave a small snort but didn’t say anything else. Touko took that as a green light to go on and set to work. N watched with wide eyes as the girl healed his Pokémon. Zoroark and Mila walked up next to the green haired teen, also watching as the teen worked.

“What… what is she doing?” N asked, his voice soft.

“She’s showing kindness.” Mila answered simply.

“But why? We’re the enemy.” Zoroark said, frowning.

“Tell me something I don’t know.” Mila snort. She sighed and shook her head. “I’ve known lady Touko since she was four years old. I was still a newborn then. When I first met her, I bit her. Right on the leg. She still has a small limp when she walks from it. The elders wanted to release me out into the wild. But Touko stopped them. She wasn’t going to let them. They asked her why. All she said was that I was just scared and that I deserved a chance. She was being kind then too. I’ve stayed by her ever since and have seen her do many things out of kindness. She’s showing you kindness N because…” Mila’s voice trailed off, not sure how to continue her sentence.

“Because I want us to be friends.” Touko finished, standing back up to face them. N looked at her, noticing that Reshiram was back up on her feet as well. Mila trotted over to stand by the girl’s side.

“You…. You want us to be friends?” N asked. Touko nodded, giving him a small, tired smile.

“If it’s alright with you. I’m sick of us fighting all the time. It gets us nowhere.” She said. He opened his mouth to say something but his eyes locked onto something behind her and a look of fear mixed with panic flashed on his face.

“Run Touko.” He whispered to her. She frowned at him, but soon she understood what he meant.

“After all of that, do you think you’re still worthy of sharing the name Harmonia with me?!” Ghetsis asked, pushing Touko out of his way and grabbing N by the front of his shirt. He slapped N against the face, and hard. Touko winced herself, rubbing her check as though she could feel the force of the blow herself. It reminded her of when Touya had slapped her.

“You good-for-nothing boy!” Ghetsis said, smacking N again.

‘Come on N, stick up for yourself.’

“After saying you put your beliefs on the line and battle to see which one of you two was the true hero… YOU LOST TO AN ORDINARY TRAINER?! There is such a thing as being too stupid and you are the very definition of it!” Ghetsis yelled, hitting N for a third time. A small whimper escaped the teenager’s lips but he didn’t dare say anything.

‘N, come on.’

“Add it up and you are nothing more than a WARPED DEFECTIVE BOY WHO KNOWS NOTHING BUT POKEMON! IF THAT!” Ghetsis slapped N again. Touko could see tears threatening to spill from his eyes. She couldn’t take it anymore, something had to be done.

“What the hell are you doing?!” She yelled. Ghetsis let go of the poor boy, flinging him to the ground harshly, his face full of red marks. The man turned his red eye on the brunette, it was full of rage and anger… Towards her.

“I would never have thought that Zekrom would choose someone like you! It took me by surprise for sure. However, this doesn’t change a thing. My plans have not been disturbed. But in order for my plan to work, you, since you seem to like getting in my way, you must be disposed of. I will rule the world, you meddling bitch.” Ghetsis snarled at her.

“What did you just call me?” Touko growled, her eyes narrowing to slits.

“Rule the world?” Cheren’s voice asked. All three looked towards the entrance to the throne room. Alder, Silver, Cheren and Touya all stood there, looking like they were ready to beat Ghetsis themselves.

“Damn. Just how big is this castle?” Touya muttered, eyes wondering around the room. “How you doing sis?”

“I’m fine. Sore, but fine.” Touko answered, relief washing over her to know that her brother was safe.

“Wait a sec. I thought Plasma’s goal was to liberate Pokémon.” Silver said, frowning.

“That was a total lie in order for team plasma to be created.” Ghetsis said.

“Humph. How convenient.” Alder grumbled.

“Use your heads, imbeciles. What’s to be gained from letting go of useful things like Pokémon? The only people who should have Pokémon are those in power.” Ghetsis told them.

“You in other words?” Touya asked.

“What a fool.” Cheren muttered, shaking his head.

“That’s one of the worst fucking plans I’ve ever heard. Even Geovanni had a better plan than you.” Silver added.

“Say what you want. A Pokémon, even if a legendary” Ghetsis’ good eye flashed from Mila to Zekrom before going back to the four men by the door. “Is still just a Pokémon.”

Mila let out a snarl, baring her teeth and scooting closer to Touko. Zekrom gave an annoyed grunt, looking ready to squash Ghetsis like a bug under his foot. The man glared at the brunette girl, who only returned his gaze blankly.

“So what if it chose you. That doesn’t make you a threat at all. You’re nothing but a broken girl. Now, you’ll face me in battle.” Ghetsis said, taking a pokeball out from his robes. Touko grinned, returning Zekrom at the same time as N returned Reshiram. This wasn’t their fight.

“Well then Ghetsis. I hope you’re ready to lose against this ‘broken girl.’” Touko said, her team standing around her, all glaring at the man as a wicked smile traced her lips.

Touya watched in slight fear as his sister took on Ghetsis, a man that made even Alder shudder. Mila was battling Sesmitoad, Ghost was against Cofagringus, Ghetsis’ Bouffalant was taking on Denya, Bisharp and Eelektross were teaming up against Samuel while Flame took on Hydreigon. Ghetsis, meanwhile, ran right at Touko. He grabbed her by the front of her shirt and raised his fist, punching her in the face. Her head snapped back and she could hear the whiplash that she had gotten from it, yet she didn’t seemed fazed by it at all.

“Touko!” Touya yelled out. The three teens made to move towards her but three loud cracks were heard and arms wrapped around them, holding them back.

“What the?” Silver said, struggling in Feraligator grasp.

“Emboar, let me go.” Cheren said angrily. Touya’s head hung so his visor from his hat covered his face, hiding the tears that were rolling down his cheeks.

“Liam…. Thank you… old friend.” He muttered. The Emboar gave a huff and nodded his great head, having no intention to see his trainer get hurt.

“Is that all you got Ghetsis?” Touko asked, glaring at him. He punched her again, harder and more forceful, snapping her head back for a second time. She spat out some blood to the side, coughing a bit.

“Honestly, didn’t anyone tell you that you hit like a little girl?” Touko asked. “My sister hit harder than you do when she was five!” The man, having had enough of the girl taunting him, lifted her up using the grip that he had on the front of her clothes, and threw her towards the wall like she was just an old rag doll. She hit it hard, hearing several sickening cracks as she rolled to the floor.

“Touko! Emboar, let me go now! I have to help her!” Cheren yelled, still struggling in his starter’s grasp. The Pokémon stubbornly shook his head, only gripping the boy tighter.

“Stay where you are. This isn’t your fight.” A voice said behind them. Touya turned his head to look at the person that had spoken. A man stood next to Alder, dressed in a pair of black slacks and a white dress shirt, the sleeves rolled up to his elbows. Touya blinked several times.

“Dad…” he said. Rood smiled at his son for a second, folding his arms across his chest as he watched the battle in front of them. Zorro trotted up beside him, a fierce look on his face.

“This is Touko’s battle, not ours. We have no right to mess in it.” Rood said, sounding more like he was trying to convince himself rather than the others.

Touko gave a small groan as she stood up, almost falling back down again. One of her ribs was for sure broken, maybe more than that, she wasn’t one hundred percent sure. Ghetsis walked toward her, grabbing her by her shirt again and slamming her against the hard concreate wall. A knife was held up to her throat and her hands tried prying his off her. A grin covered the man’s face.

“Any last words?” He asked her.

“Go ahead and kill me Ghetsis. Believe me, you’d be doing me a favor.” Touko growled at him. The man’s good eye went wide and he stared at the girl in shock.

“What’s the matter Ghetsis? Little different up close and in person?” Touko asked, pressing against the knife. A little drop of blood tickled onto the blade of the knife. Ghetsis dropped the knife, letting it clatter to the floor as he grabbed a hold of the girl by the neck, throwing her against the ground.

“Touko!” Mila yelled.

“Mila, look out!” Zoroark yelled out. All of N’s Pokémon, minus Zoroark and Carracosta, were back in their pokeballs clipped to N’s belt. Both Pokémon looked slightly horrified. Zoroark sent a focus blast towards Sesmitoad, stopping him from hitting Mila with Earthquake. He took off to go help her out and Carracosta took off to help out Samuel, who wasn’t doing so good.

“Touko… No…” N said, watching as Ghetsis lifted the brunette up like she was a piece of paper.

A loud painful scream was ripped from her throat as she was thrown against the opposite wall of the castle. She hit the floor with a loud thud, rolling a few inches before stopping. She struggled to get up this time, having taken so many hits and she only fell back down to the ground. Everything in her body was screaming at her. Her mind telling her to run as far as she could and her legs telling her that they, no, that EVERYTHING hurt. It hurt just to breathe! Ghetsis let out a loud crazed laugh.

“So, this is the hero of ideals? I was expecting more. You know Rood, your daughter is a real disappointment. She’s all bark and no bite!” He said, walking towards the teenage girl. N looked completely horrified. Not only had her Pokémon been threw a tough fight, but so had she.

“Well then, I suppose it’s time I killed you for real.” Ghetsis said simply.

Mila’s eyes widened and she quickly abandoned her fight with Sesmitoad, running towards her trainer and most trusted friend. Zoroark stood in total shock as he watched her run. The female stepped in front of Ghetsis as he took a piece of glass up from the floor. A piece from one of the windows that Reshiram had busted earlier when she had entered the room. Mila bared her teeth and a savage growl slipped from her lips.

“DON’T YOU TOUCH HER AGAIN!” She howled.

Touko’s eyes were wide with fear. Ghetsis raised his hand to strike with the glass, holding it tightly in his fist. Silver, Cheren and Touya all struggled in their Pokémon’s grasp, shouting something that Touko couldn’t make out. To her, the room might as well have gone dead silent.

“NO!”

So.... umm... Yeah, the next chapter is here! I had some free time this weekend because I have the next two days off of school and I thought I might do some typing while I ice my hip because I dislocated it on Wenesday and had to get it popped back into place on saturday, which really hurt. Anyway, I hope you like it and the next chapter will hopefully be up soon.

I don't own pokemon.
